Ava Matino

Public Affairs Coordinator

Ava is passionate about building strong partnerships to advance policy outcomes. She has extensive experience in small business relations, most recently with the Manasquan Chamber of Commerce, where she advocated for the local business community’s interests. She also supported small businesses and local nonprofits in south-central Maryland to build resiliency efforts and ensure their interests are represented in regional policy.  

Ava’s work in Congressman Bill Pascrell’s office focused on legislation with the Ways and Means committee, healthcare, Veterans Affairs, and law enforcement. She has a personal interest in youth empowerment, accessible education, and international poverty reduction, highlighted by her involvement in One Thousand Schools and The Borgen Project. Ava’s experience in the nonprofit world and time on Capitol Hill taught her how to respond quickly and efficiently to unexpected problems and bolstered her research and communication skills.

Ava holds a B.A. in Public Policy with a minor in Nonprofit Leadership and Social Innovation and a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland. She currently resides in New Jersey.
